Saudi Arabia intercepts Houthi drone near Makkah, coalition warns of red line
Most outlets led with the Saudi-led coalition’s claim that a Houthi drone was intercepted near Makkah before entering restricted or prohibited airspace, often quoting the coalition spokesperson or officials. A few also included the Houthi denial of targeting the holy city, particularly 24 News HD, ARY News, and The Express Tribune. Some, like Geo News and Dawn, framed the incident as part of a broader regional conflict and emphasized the coalition’s warning that the security of holy sites is a “red line.” The Nation and Business Recorder focused more narrowly on the technical details of the interception.
