--- title: "US to establish two new military bases in Greenland under tripartite agreement" description: "Most outlets led with the announcement that the US plans to establish two new military bases in Greenland under a tripartite agreement with Denmark and Greenland, with the deal expected to be signed at the United Nations General Assembly. Several also noted the bases would include a re-established Cold War-era facility and a new one on the east coast, often specifying their locations. A few outlets, such as The Express Tribune, added context about the timing in relation to Trump's pressure and the broader Arctic security implications, while others, like Minute Mirror and The Nation, focused more narrowly on the expansion of US military presence without broader geopolitical framing." url: https://harzaviya.com/stories/9868-us-to-open-two-new-military-bases-in-greenland-sources-say site: HarZaviya language: en --- # US to establish two new military bases in Greenland under tripartite agreement world · updated 22 Sep 2026, 10:28 PM PKT · 22 Sep 2026 · 9 articles from 9 outlets **HarZaviya summary** — how 9 outlets covered this, generated automatically from their headlines and excerpts: > Most outlets led with the announcement that the US plans to establish two new military bases in Greenland under a tripartite agreement with Denmark and Greenland, with the deal expected to be signed at the United Nations General Assembly.
